his studies
at the
University
of Minnesota
to serve 3
years in the
Navy,
emerging as
a decorated
pilot and
navigator to
return to
the
U. of M.
Graduating
with 364
military and
college
credits,
B.M.E. and
B.B.A.
degrees, and
membership
in the
honorary
Pi Tau Sigma
fraternity,
he found his
calling in
the
employment
business.
He met with
considerable
success, and
founded his
own
executive
search
firm, Intromation,
Inc.
He branched
out into
outplacement
services
with Eugene
B. Shea
Associates,
Inc., an
Illinois
not-for-profit
corporation,
where he and
his staff
guided
thousands of
people to
better jobs
and more
rewarding
careers.
His was one
of the first
firms to be
accepted for
membership
in the
prestigious
International
Association
of Career
Consulting
Firms. Gene
was
qualified
and
designated a
Registered
Career
Consultant
by that
organization,
and his
firm was one
of only 23
firms of all
types
selected for
inclusion in
a book on
Business
Ethics by a
renowned
industrial
relations
executive.
In 1984
Gene, with
his son
Peter,
founded
Foster,
McMillan and
Co., a division
of Intromation,
Inc., to
engage
in legal
search. In
